So, one of my students told me that a friend of hers likes to translate place names. Which makes Wuppertal W-Upper Valley. I thought that one was funny. I told Simon's cousin, Günter about it, but he'd already heard of it. I think it's relatively well known. But I still thought it was funny.
Also, eine meiner Schülerinnen hat mir gesagt dass ein Freund von ihr mag die namen die Orten zu übersetzten. Das heisst dass Wuppertal "W-Upper Valley" heissen soll. Ich dacht dass das sehr lustig war. Ich hab's Simons Cousin Günter erzählt, aber er hat schon davon gehört. Ich glaub es ist relativ bekannt. Aber ich dachte es war trotzdem lustig.
We bought a new oven this week. I managed to break the oven door by taking it off and not being able to put it back on. The handle had broken, and I had tried to repair it. So much for repairing things. But Simon said that it was very old, and that we should buy a new one. So we did. The installers came today. It's nice to have an oven again.
Wir haben einen neuen Ofen diese Woche gekauft. Ich hab's geschafft die Ofentür zu brechen indem ich sie es abgemacht habe und konnte sie nicht zurückstellen. Der Griff hatte gebrochen und ich hatte versucht ihn zu reparieren. Aber Simon hat auch gesagt dass der Ofen sehr alt war und dass wir einen neuen kaufen sollen. Also haben wir's gemacht. Die Leute sind heute gekommen um ihn zu installieren. Es ist schön wieder einen Ofen zu haben.
